Even with this being a one week standard edition of the Grails Diary, the Groovy Podcast has published two editions since last week. Lots of videos from Greach have been published and much more. The Groovy ecosystem is busy!
SDKman can now be installed securely over HTTPS, with
curl -s "https://get.sdkman.io" | bash. The full guide for installation is here
Dan Woods has decided to donate all royalties from Learning Ratpack to the Gr8Ladies organization, to help sustain their work. This is one week where you should not #unfollowdanveloper (next week is again another story)
The Groovy Podcast, has beside the normal edition with Ken and Baruch, also published a special edition with guest Jenn Strater, discussing the GR8 Ladies and Jenn's scholorship in Copenhagen. Links to both editions are in the top of the videos section.
Thank you Ken for the continued advertisement (and glad the diary can be of use)
This latest edition of Groovy Calamari has special focus on the Fields plugin for Grails. Sergio del Amo is doing a great job with the weekly newsletter, that you really should subscribe to.
Bud Byrd is the man behind the http-requests project, that could be a replacement for the somewhat stale HttpBuilder project for making HTTP requests in groovy. The documentation looks very elaborate. Guillaume pointed also to John Wagenleitners groovy-wslite project. If anyone need a topic for a blog post, then a fair comparison of these two HTTP request tools is up for grabs :)
Grooscript could use your feedback, on the topic of Integreate spring's reactor, thus integrating websockets in Grails 3.
There is a new marketplace for Grails developers: grailsdevelopers.com/. I have not used it, as I'm not in the consultancy business anymore, but I find it a little unfortunate that an Interview featured on the front page is with quite old and featuring someone who have done very little Grails work the last couple of years.
Marcin Grzejszczak updated the JSONAssert library to version 0.4.2
The beer for this years GR8Conf is now underway, as the organizers wen't brewing this saturday. Tickets are still available at gr8conf.eu
