This week, the second release candidate for Groovy 2.4 is out. The final release is planned for this week, so please test your code with the RC2, to make sure everything is working! It is available on Gvm or for download

Programming Groovy on Android has improved support! You can now use Spock on Android with Android For Spock 1.0 which has just been released. There are an examples repository to get you started - great work by Andrew Reitz. Also for the Groovy Android developer, the SwissKnife library has been released in version 1.2.0, with support for @Parcelable annotation and some added DSL methods.

Other releases this week includes Spring Boot 1.2.1, fixing a large number of bugs. Also the Grooscript Gradle plugin in version 0.9, available at bintray, with a startup guide available.

MrHaki has published the Gradle Goodness Notebook, which is updated when new blogs are published.

The GrailsConf in India happened this weekend, and appears to be a great success! Amit Jain has written a summary: The Biggest Grails Conference in India – GrailsConf 2015!!!, the Conference season of 2015 has started!

This leads us to the final reminder for submitting abstracts for both Greach (deadline Jan. 18th) and GR8conf EU and US (deadline Jan. 15th). Greach has just announced the first speakers, and the venue will showcase both Dan Woods (yes, #Danveloper) and the blogging oracle Hubert Klein Ikkink (MrHaki).
